Privacy Settings

Control what your teammates can see. These choices are enforced by the server, not just hidden in the app.

Sending & Receiving Files

Control how files are sent and received with Adaptive Optimistic Upload, ZIP bundling, same-network approval, and transfer encryption. Settings apply account-wide across all devices.

Sending

Adaptive Optimistic Upload

SendFlo normally transfers files directly from sender to receiver (P2P). When direct connections repeatedly fail, SendFlo can begin uploading the file in the background before the receiver connects, increasing download speed.

Desktop

Applies Optimistic Upload to files sent from desktop devices.

Mobile

Applies Optimistic Upload to files sent from phones and metered connections.

Projects on Mobile

Applies Optimistic Upload to Project sends from phones and metered connections, when enabled at the Project level.

Send as single ZIP

Bundles multi-file sends into one .zip archive on your device before sending. Controls the default for each transfer, but you can change it per send.

File restore after expiry

Keeps sent files recoverable after their links expire, counts against your storage. Available on all paid plans and adjustable per send.

Hold scheduled links until send time

When you schedule a send, the link itself stays private until the scheduled time (recipients see 'not yet available'). Turn off to make links live immediately and only delay the notification emails.

Skip accept on my network

Receivers on the same network can download without approval. Unrecognized remote receivers still require your explicit approval to download files via a security code.

Encrypt files during transfer

Encrypts files on your device before any relay through SendFlo — our storage only ever holds ciphertext. No measurable speed cost.

Receiving

Download as a ZIP

Combines multiple received files into one .zip download, avoiding repeated browser prompts.

Receive in the mobile browser

While sendflo.app is open in a browser on your phone, files sent to it from your other devices arrive there automatically. Turn off to save battery; you can still enter a key.

Auto-accept from previous senders

Transfers from devices you’ve received files from before start automatically (new devices still need approval).

Notification emails

What SendFlo may email you about. On-site notifications (the bell) always show your account's activity; these switches control email only.

Notification Channels

Deliver SendFlo notifications beyond the app — to email addresses, Slack, Discord, Teams, or your own signed webhooks. Which events reach each channel is set below, in Notification Preferences.

WebHook

Notification Preferences

Choose which events reach you, per channel. Each row shows its importance (1–10): 7+ emails you by default, 8+ always emails (locked). Slack, Discord, Teams and Webhook columns appear once you connect them above. In-app and push are instant; other channels follow the cadence below.

Delivery cadence

How often each channel may message you. Smart batches high-frequency events (downloads, completed transfers) into one summary and sends singular events (failures, low credits) immediately.

Network & Devices

Every device signed into this account. The Metered switch marks a device's connection as metered, so Adaptive Optimistic Upload spends data carefully there. Detected automatically where possible; phones and tablets default to metered, desktops to unmetered. Rename a device to keep the list recognizable — a device you name is also how you appear to the people you send to from it ("From Dana's MacBook" instead of your email); they can still give you a name of their own.
